Savouring the last afternoon of this view from the holiday rental house.

I stood at the kitchen window looking out across Cape Schanck with a cup of tea, my art journal, soft pastels and my son’s selection of music playing.

The cup of tea even spilled on the page at one stage. I felt a flicker of concern then shrugged, mopped it up with paper towel and carried on.

There are a few layers. Soft pastels, fixative, then harder pastels, fixative and then before the fixative dried some quick dashes of Inktense pigment sticks.

A holiday with hours to create art every day and hang out with my family.

Grateful. Rich!

What’s a delicious (or vicious!) view you’ve had through a kitchen window? Want to make some marks on a page to express it?
