Sitting on the lounge with a tray of oil pastels. Letting the day’s discomforts flow out. Slowing down to watch thoughts and sensations. The relief of pressing the colour into the page. The freedom to adjust patterns as I grow bored or become inspired. I notice how the left side, where I started, is darker. The right side becomes more subtle. Thankful to have an outlet. No matter what’s happening, I want to practice peaceful self expression, attend to my inner world, to watch emotions flow through me as they arise, to treat myself as worthy of the same rejuvenation and creative expression that I want everyone around me to enjoy.
